My mom, grandpa, and I ate here for dinner! It was really good, the pork cutlet was delicious and the texture was great! The tangy sauce was very tasty and I liked the cabbage and rice. The servers were very friendly and the food came out quickly, additionally the whole restraunt is very nice and quiet, and clean! Highly recommend ^^

Had such a delicious meal here! Everything was fresh and flavorful! I had the #4 Miso Katsu Don bowl which had a deep flavorful sauce. The owner of the restaurant told me that the Hatcho Miso sauce they use is from a special place in Japan. I really enjoyed how enthusiastic he was about describing the different meal options. You can tell he’s serous about serving the most authentic food he can! I’ve never heard of Ton Jilu Pork Broth miso soup before, and was very happy with how it tasted. It’s like a more complex miso soup. I also had a variety of their onigiris which were all yummy! I’d definitely recommend trying this place out for yourself!

Finally, authentic Tonkatsu (deep fried crispy pork chop) arrived Columbus! Although a lot of Japanese restaurants serve tonkatsu, it's never anything near the authentic one served in Japan. But luckily we can now taste it in this shop. The tonkatsu here is super crispy and tender. The upgraded chicken thigh is extremely delicious as well. I highly recommend it to you. I advise you to avoid peak hours if you want to sit and enjoy the meal there as the tables are limited. (Around 15 seats in total).

This place is maybe one of the best places in Columbus overall. It's fried pork (or chicken) with rice and other stuff done different ways. Their fry is amazingly crisp and golden brown. The white rice is fluffy and not too sticky, it's among the best I've had at any restaurant. It is a small place, and it does get crowded and they have lunch and dinner hours with a break in the middle. Parking is usually open and easy enough on the surrounding streets. The best thing is the Katsu Don with egg. The Teishoku is a whole plate, and you can upgrade the soup, if you're not a fan of miso you might like the upgrade soup. The pickle changes so maybe you like it, maybe it's not a favorite, but it's been interesting the three times we've had it. The curry is better than other places, but the fluffy egg is so much better to me. Well worth going here.

That's the only way I know how to describe it — and it's the highest compliment I can give. THE SPOT: Osaka Ton Katsu is tiny — maybe 14-16 seats total. The Sakamoto family runs it (chef, owner, and his wife), and it shows. This isn't a restaurant trying to feel authentic. It just is. The menu is small, the hours are limited, and they close when they run out — which they do, a lot. That should tell you everything. THE FOOD: 🔥🔥🔥 Ingredients are sourced directly from Japan, and you can taste exactly why that matters. I had the Miso Katsudon — deeply savory, perfectly fried, and nothing like what you'd find at a generic Japanese spot. My friend had the Tonkatsu Teishoku. Both were phenomenal. The pork is tenderloin (not loin — an intentional choice), trimmed by hand and breaded fresh. Every bite has that satisfying crunch-to-juicy ratio that's almost impossible to get right.
